When I was a fresh student living on campus, I always imagined having my own apartment in the city, close to all the happenings and real life. College was great, but I missed my freedom the most.
Oh, how I wished I had a teensy tiny apartment with my own parking space for my old car, and just the liberty of living alone and always having hot water.
Those days are over, but I know somewhere out there is another young Nora, dreaming the same dreams.
Dreaming of a small but lovely place like this 322 sq ft container home I’m about to show you!
A Parking Place Is Hard To Get
Even today, if you don’t buy one, a parking place is super hard to get. So imagine how hard it would be for a student to have one besides a lovely, cozy home.
The latest container home that charmed me was this beautiful one made of one 40 HC container, cut in half, stacked one upon the other half.

The container appears to be floating in the air, creating that much-needed parking spot under it. Behind the improvised garage is a small yard with full privacy. The house part is right up the stairs. I can imagine young, trendy students, running down those stairs, grabbing coffee on the go, being late for class again.
Ah, the perks of living alone in a city!
The View That Says You’re Welcome In
As you climb the stairs and open the front door, you’re greeted by the open concept of the home with a nice, big kitchen on the left, and a living room claiming the right side.
The room is designed using a neutral color palette with added details in vibrant blueish-greens and orange tones.
Although students don’t have much time for cooking, I still appreciate this spacious kitchen. I wish I had one when I was in college because I got tired of ramen noodles and takeout pretty quickly.
Such kitchen design allows not only trendy young adults to move in here, but couples too!
Marble Kitchen Details Steal Hearts
Subtle details in the kitchen area, like the marble kitchen island, add a touch of luxury, something we all strive for. Beige kitchen cabinets are always a good idea because you can add pretty much any color to make the room pop.
In this case, right next to that cool dining counter/ table are blue chairs. By adding just a bit of counter space next to the island you get a dining area that doesn’t take up too much space.
Such A Cozy Living Room Nook
Since the apartment comes with only 322 sq ft, the living room is right there and it is small and compact, perfect for this place.
The cozy sofa and the greyish curtains add a homey feel, and the artwork, along with the lamp and the colorful pillows increase the value of the room, making it modern and stylish.
I know you’re wondering if there is a bedroom and how could they fit one. Rest assured, there is one, and you’re about to see it!
Work Smart And You’ll Get Everything In One Place
Adding a bedroom was crucial. Instead of creating a large living room that no one really uses too much, the designer cut it in half and placed a bedroom behind that wall you see in the living room.
The greatest feature of both rooms is the ceiling-to-floor windows that let in lots of natural light and create an airy atmosphere in the apartment.
Earthy tones and soft fabrics prevail in this bedroom, making it an elegant oasis with a dash of luxury.
To visually increase the size of the bedroom, right opposite the bed is a closet with mirrored doors. That’s how you kill two birds with one stone!
Now, an ensuite bathroom wasn’t possible, but the only bathroom in the apartment was just outside the bedroom.
That Bathroom Details Is Amazing
This is another luxurious space with elements I’d love to see in my home too!
Marble is one of my favorite patterns and textures and I love the black marble sink in here! What I love even more is the marble line behind the toilet and in the walk-in shower too. It’s such a creative addition to a rather plain and simple bathroom.
Ah, if Nora from 15 years ago had this apartment she would’ve been the luckiest girl in the world. Maybe there is another young girl or even a boy whose dreams of owning a small place in the city would finally come true.
Here’s to all the Noras in the making and all the cool container houses that could become a home, even for students.
