Nature is probably one of the best gifts we, as humans, ever could have gotten, right? So, it should be our duty to preserve it and always keep it full and fresh!
One of the ways to do that is by recycling! Upon hearing that word, we usually think of not using plastic bags, using paper straws instead of plastic ones etc. But, did you know that you can recycle when it comes to housing too?
In fact, you can recycle in more ways than one!
That’s why today, I decided to show you a couple of tiny homes built from recycled materials! Who knows, maybe they inspire you as well! After all, each and every single one is very interesting!
1. Pocket-Sized Wooden Cabin
First off, I have to show everyone’s favorite – tiny cabin! Not many of us can resist that rustic charm, so I simply had to put her first on the list!
The entirety of this beautiful home was built with up-scaled wood! All the way from the pine wood floors to the recycled barn wood siding! All of the wooden details make the place filled with that warm and cozy character which I absolutely love!
2. School Bus Turned Cozy Home
I bet it’s hard to imagine a school bus as a cozy home but it’s possible! Trust me, when you have the vision you can make everything come true!
Do you need some more convincing? Well, let me just say that the interior of this “school bus” holds a fireplace, a foldable dining table and a ceiling window. Are you intrigued already?
If you’d like to see what it looks like behind these beige walls of the exterior and what an incredible transformation it has had, check out this link with a full tour of this lovely home!
3. Match With The Nature With This Natural Home
Moving away from the school buses, we enter a very “earthy area” once again. By that I mean, the tiny home you’re looking at right now was made out of a mixture of sand, straw and clay.
What would fit a natural surrounding filled with greenery better than a natural home? Not much, it doesn’t get any more matching than that!
What’s amazing about these places is that they’re not pricey either! You certainly won’t have to break your budget to make this gorgeous house with an earthen construction!
4. A Shipping Container Is A No.1 Go-To For Reusable Housing
A classic that we can’t go without when it comes to reusable materials are shipping containers! They can come together and make houses of all shapes and sizes, including the tiny ones!
Yes, what you’re looking at in the photo above is a shipping container! It’s truly amazing what you can do with them! But what hides inside is even more crazy! You’d never guess you’re in a shipping container once you come in!
I highly recommend you check out a tour of this place here, and perhaps it introduces you to a whole new way of living!
5. Into The Sticks With An Off-Grid Haven
Are you in the mood for some off-grid relaxation? If yes, I understand you, I’m always in the mood for that!
This home, which was built entirely out of recycled and sustainable sources is the perfect off-grid place!
Do sayings like “solar electrics including lights” or “compost toilet” intrigue you? That’s exactly what you can experience in a recycled off-grid tiny home like this!
6. Airstream In The Woods
We can’t have this list without mentioning something as amazing as airstreams! But want to know what’s even better? An airstream in the woods! I have the perfect one here ready to show you!
It fits perfectly with the surroundings browns and greens and all of this wood allows you to decorate your space even more! You can relax on the wooden chairs placed on your wooden terrace and enjoy the firepit nearby!
The exterior isn’t the only thing cozy and comfy about this airstream though, so you’ll definitely want to check out its full tour here!
7. Life On A Train
If unused school buses can be recycled and be turned into wonderful tiny homes, why wouldn’t other vehicles be able to do the same thing?
These old caboose train cars offer the most unique way of living in quite tiny yet comfortable spaces! If you consider yourself an adventurer, I highly recommend you don’t miss out on this as it would be one insanely cool experience!
8. Stephanie And Joel’s Off-Grid Cabin
Almost a decade and a half ago, a young family of Stephanie and Joel decided to lead an off-grid life. But, they needed an off-grid home first.
And then, they built one.
Their lovely off-grid home also comes with a greenhouse, and it was built using so many different materials. In fact, it was assembled together using lots of recycled materials, things that were found in the area and given new life.
Talk about turning trash into treasure—this home proves that sustainability can be stylish and full of heart.
9. WW2 Train Turned Into A Home
Still on a train theme but way different from the previous, we have in front of us an ex World War Two train car!
Its black exterior makes it look intimidating but the interior balances it all out with the most cozy and rustic feel ever! Check out its photos here!
Don’t you just love this combination of history and housing? It’s so creative, I desperately need more of it!
Well, which one of these tiny homes made out of recycled materials and vehicles is your favorite?
