With overconsumption becoming more and more popular, many homes are now cluttered with things.
And I’m not saying that this is bad. I have seen so many maximalist spaces that are absolutely incredible. But sometimes, I really need a home with a minimalist design that I am able to relax and decompress in.
That is why, when I saw this shipping container home, I knew it was the perfect place for me.
The home is made up from two full-sized shipping containers that are stacked up.
Not only does this give you tons of space but you can also divide your living area from your bedroom, providing you with the privacy you deserve.
When you first step inside the property, you will find yourself in the living room.
Since the home is quite narrow, one side of the room houses the lounge area with a super comfortable couch, while the wall across has your flatscreen TV.As you move down the first floor, you will come across a work desk that serves as your office space. And right next to it is the kitchen.
Even though it is on the smaller side, this kitchen will make you feel like you are a pro chef.
All of the appliances are full-sized, meaning that you can make even the most elaborate dinner for your loved ones. And I absolutely adore those open shelves that add tons of character to the entire space.
An interesting thing that I noticed about this floor is the fact that it is designed in light colors. This makes the space feel so much bigger than it actually is.
The final part of this floor is the back garden.
Yes, you heard that right!
For the days when you are feeling stressed and need to have some ‘me time’, this garden will provide you with exactly that.
It is equipped with an incredible lounge area, grill, and even a hot tub. And don’t get me started on those adorable plants that make this space feel super cozy.
Plus, the entire space is closed off with tall walls, allowing you to completely relax and enjoy your privacy.
As you make your way back inside and up the stairs, you will find the bedroom.
Featuring a king-sized bed with a TV right across it, this bedroom will have you tempted to sleep in every single day.
On one side of the bed is a tall bookshelf as well as the entrance to the balcony, while the other leads you straight to the closet and the bathroom.
If you like owning a lot of clothes then you will absolutely love this closet since it is huge!
It stretches across the entire hallway, giving you plenty of space to put away all of your cute outfits while keeping them nice and neat.
Finally, the bathroom.
The master bathroom may be smaller but you can rest assured that it will have you nice and clean in a matter of minutes.
Housing a huge tinted window that floods the space with tons of natural light, it makes the look bigger. Therefore, a nice spa day is guaranteed every time.
Oh, and the color palette of this floor is completely opposite from the first one as it is darker. This is perfect for a bedroom as it allows you to get into that nice, deep sleep much faster.
Even with the narrow design of this stacked container home, the design is so incredible and innovative that it will make you feel like you were in a regular home.
