Have you ever looked at a yellow school bus and wondered, “Could this be my next home?”
No? Well, you’re not alone, but let me tell you – once you start looking at the creative ways people are transforming these vehicles into stunning homes, you might find yourself reconsidering.
In a world where most people are looking for bigger houses, nomads are living proof that sometimes, less really is more!
So buckle up (or should I say, board the bus?) because we’re about to take a ride through some of the coolest school bus conversions that make home sweet home look entirely different – and a little more fun!
1. Ocean Vibes In This Light Home
Here’s a perfect example of “home on wheels” at its finest!
This beautifully converted school bus is a cozy little oasis on the move. Imagine waking up to those warm wooden interiors such as the table and the shelves, with natural light flooding in from the big windows – talk about a dream morning.
Also, is it just me or does this skoolie reminds a lot of summer? It might be the light blue, mini curtains and the blue, built-in couch that give off that ocean vibe. Either way, I’m obsessed.
2. Black And White Assure Elegance
Considering we started off with something very bright and colorful, I decided to continue with quite the opposite – the black and white skoolie.
Who said school buses can’t be elegant and modern? Just look at all those black cabinets and white countertops! I know, you’d never guess this used to be a school bus but it really was! The power of transformation!
If you’d like to see some more before and after photos of this incredible tiny home, take a look at this article!
3. Like It Comes From A Fairytale
Okay, I never thought I’d say this but this ex-school bus looks like a home of a princess. Do you see it as well?
The little bedroom with the gorgeous bed that looks like some fancy chamber and the staircase that leads to the top part decorated in plants, fairy lights and natural light from the windows looks just heavenly!
To top it all off, the wooden doors, wooden ceiling and the stunning chandelier are like icing on the cake of this magical tiny place.
4. The Comfiest Skoolie Ever
Be honest, you also want to just lay back and relax in this comfy looking skoolie, don’t you?
It’s understandable! Once you remove all of the regular school bus seats, there’s actually a lot of space for some quite big furniture including a big and comfy bed!
We all know that light colors, especially white, tend to give the illusion of a bigger space as well, so these white and light pink cabinets take a big part in creating this very spacious looking, lovely, converted school bus.
5. Coziness And Functionality In One
Moving onto the next one and what awaits is one of the coziest converted school bus homes I’ve ever seen!
The wooden ceiling, the soft rug, the little curtains between the windows, everything just screams warmth and cozy vibes!
Coziness is not the only one taking a major part of this home though, it is incredibly functional as well! Do you see that wooden cabinet? It’s actually foldable and can turn into a table! And that art piece in the middle? That’s actually a TV that you can move and turn around!
How incredible is all that? If you’d like to see more things this home has to offer (and trust me, there’s a lot) check out this article which goes into full detail about it!
6. Bring Nature Inside Your Home
If you’re looking for something that feels incredibly natural, this tiny home is surely going to be your favorite!
Surrounded by a bunch of wooden interior, including the wooden countertop, shelves, couch and more and plants of all kinds all over the shelves, this space makes sure to allow nature to enter the home!
With the windows on both sides, the feeling of being outside in nature is even higher! I’d love cooking something in that cozy kitchen, I’m sure it would be such a lovely experience!
7. Your Own Mini Bar Inside A Home
Our next converted school bus is also one of my favorites (although, which one isn’t) and I have the exact reason for that.
The reason is this really cool bar! I just love the fact that the beautiful little kitchen is separated from the rest of the place by the mini bar area with a wooden countertop and two bar-stools.
I’d just love having my morning coffee and breakfast over here as I look at the outdoors scenery through those big windows decorated with patterned curtains.
8. Cool Design For The Maximalists
Do we have any maximalists over here? If you just raised your hand or answered with a yes in your head, you don’t want to miss this tiny home!
The animal print on the couch and the gorgeous photo wall are only some of the cool things that await in this home! There’s so much more going on in the kitchen, bedroom and a really cool surprise in the bathroom!
So, if you’re interested in this funky home, you better head over to this article and check out its full tour!
9. Heaven Inspo For The Minimalists
However, if you were silent for the previous recommendation, then I’m sure you’ll love this one – the minimalist design!
Two white couches on the opposite sides, that look as if they’re mirroring each other, and a simple wooden countertop is pretty much the only thing needed for some! No shelves on those clean, white walls or patterns on the curtains, instead the white blinds allow privacy.
Minimalists, I think I just found you the most perfect inspo place for your tiny home!
10. An Incredibly Spacious Home
Does this home seem bigger to you than plenty others despite the interior being quite dark? Well, that’s because the ceiling was raised a couple of inches, therefore gaining so much room!
Not only does that make it easier for us tall people to walk through, but it allows so much more space for shelves and storage which makes the home more neat and tidy! It’s incredible how much you can change and improve your space by making it just a couple of inches taller!
Would you ever live in a skoolie? I’m sure if you’re an adventurous person that this seems like something you’d like to try out!
So do let me know which one of these homes sparked your interest the most, I’d love to hear your thoughts!
