A Couple Built A Round House So Neatly It’s Gonna Make You Spin In Circles With Excitement To See What’s Inside

Sharing is caring!

When I was a kid, my mom showed me this foreign cartoon called The Moomins.

I was crazy about it!

To this day, whenever I see a round house, it instantly reminds me of the Moomin house.
Tim and Carmen definitely didn’t have Moomins in mind, but I can’t help myself: their round house full of sustainable ways is reminding me so much of my favorite childhood cartoon.

The round house was entirely built by the owners. It’s just under 11 square feet of space, but the effort to build it was strenuous. When you look at the impressive building from the ground it’s almost 18,5 feet tall.

Built using reddish-tinted wood planks and red-framed windows, the house stands out with its vibrancy and unique shape. The frame is Douglas fir, while the cladding is Siberian latch. Everything was left raw and untreated to minimize the footprint of the house.

It’s not like you see a round house every day, especially not a round house that tends to be as sustainable as it could.

The inside of the house is super heartwarming and cozy, and it truly has the feeling of a lovely home. The place was meant for Tim and Carmen’s family of five, so it’s spacious and bright.

One of the first things that pop out are the hardwood floors and the timber on the roof and some walls. I bet the smell is wonderful too, reminding you of the woods after the rain. One of my favorite scents, ever!

The family room is a big space covering kitchen and dining area too.

The house isn’t your average stylish piece you see all over the place. It has charm AND soul, and that’s all because the builder and owner decided to adapt it to his own family. Every corner of the house (if there are corners in here, he-he), has a meaning and was decorated the way the family loves it.

I love the use of warm colors throughout the house, especially vibrant paintings that add so much value to the house and make me feel happy just by looking at them!

The entire house is special in so many ways. I have a bunch of favorite things I want to point out, one of them being the ceiling.

Since the house is round, the roof had to be round too, right?

Fortunately, it can be seen from the inside since the ceiling is covered in wood planks, but still focusing on the central point of the round roof. If you look closer, you’ll see a ventilation system in the middle of the ceiling, allowing air to circulate and more light to come in.

I always love it when people make even the simplest, most boring elements during build so innovative and creative. A round house with a round roof and everything focusing on the center of such build was an undertaking, but an absolutely worthy one.

I feel a bit overwhelmed with so many wonderful details in this unique house. And I simply must show you their bathroom!

Normally, bathrooms aren’t that interesting for me. However, this bathroom in the round house got me thinking: shouldn’t every room in the house have a chance to be decorated with all your heart?

You can absolutely tell this bathroom was done with passion and a tendency to imprint a personal touch.

As in some rooms in the house, the floor is not covered in tiles but it’s an Earthen floor. The walls are wood siding too. The whole room is as natural as it gets. If you add a nice, rectangular vanity and a cobalt blue stand-alone tub, you get one stylish bathroom.

I’m sure there is a rich lady somewhere out there who would pay millions for a bathroom intentionally decorated this way. And here you have a family that simply got this effect on their way to the perfect family house.

Can you believe the round house, despite being a bit smaller than your average family house, has plenty of room for bedrooms for all family members?

There’s a nook for everyone, a room just for their privacy with a bed and everything.

The same style continues throughout the place, with earthy tones, a pop of color here and there, and that genuine feeling of being welcome. I’m positive that living in such a good-energy home is wonderful!

The round house is one-of-a-kind. So much effort was put into it. So much tendency to make a sustainable place out of it.

Even though the house reminds me of the Moomins and their sweet little abode, I know it’s so much more than that. It’s a home for a family who cares. It’s a place for people that put the environment first.

The round house isn’t just an architectural masterpiece. It’s a lifestyle one rare people could follow.

Are you round about the idea of owning a house like this?
