Are you one of those people that judges a book by its cover?
I admit, when I’m browsing through a bookstore, I sometimes do find myself passing by some of those books with pretty boring covers and instead go over to check out some more interesting ones. Who knows how many good books I’ve missed out on by doing that!
However, in everyday life, I try not to go down that route as I’m aware that there’s so much beauty in what appears to be pretty casual and not super eye-catching from the outside.
Take a look at this school bus for an example! You’re probably thinking “Well, it’s just a school bus?” Actually, you’re wrong! It’s a tiny home! One couple had a vision of renovating this school bus into their dream place and they executed it perfectly!
You’d never know that if you judged a book by its cover, right? Well, let’s see what hides inside of this “book”!
Wooden Ceiling Adds To The Cozy Feel
The first room that welcomes us is the warm cooking room. The wooden ceiling immediately gives off that warm and cozy vibe, it even reminds me of those little cabins!
What brings the cozy feel even more are the dark green cabinets which make an amazing pairing with the white cabinets on top and the white semi L-shaped countertop! Greens and browns always add that natural and comfy vibe to the home, especially with the white base!
However, what brings the warmest feel to the home is the fireplace. I mean, it brings it literally too, so of course that’s the winner!
There are actually quite a few things I love about this corner, so let me go through them real quick!
The first one are the textured tiles in the background for sure. They make this home feel even more refreshing! Could it be because they remind me of lemons or simply because they’re different? I’m not sure, but I love it!
The second one is the fact that right next to the fireplace is a fireball! I don’t see them often in homes, especially not on display like this, but it’s an amazing thing to have! It makes your home feel a lot safer from any fire accidents!
And the third one, well, it’s the pure existence of the fireplace! I’d love spending time here and cozying up to some book as the fire warms up the place.
This TV Is Also A Piece Of Art
As we pass by the cozy fireplace, we enter the lovely living area.
One thing that I’d always keep when renovating a place like this are the windows. So I was thrilled upon seeing that the owners of this home kept more than half of them! Windows surround a huge part of this place!
You can relax on this big and comfy couch while appreciating the lovely outdoors scenery, heaven!
Something that can be hard to do in tiny homes is to fill it up with decor, so, you have to be creative and think outside of the box when it comes to decorating!
Well, the owners of this place made sure to get a flat-screen TV which is not only practical cause you can turn it around and make it easier for you to watch but it also looks like a framed photo! That’s such a cool idea!
And do you see that little cabinet opposite the couch?
That’s actually a table that can be closed down allowing you to have tons more space! Just open it up whenever you need it and you can have dinner or type away on your laptop anywhere you place it!
Who said all rooms have to be super tiny when it comes to tiny homes? If you plan out everything well, your tiny house can actually be quite spacious!
Just look at this bathroom! There’s enough space for a lovely white bathtub which you could relax in at the end of the day, and a pretty spacious countertop with a white sink on top!
Who Doesn’t Love Sky Ceilings
I think we should make a law for every house to have a sky ceiling!
The amount of natural light that enters the home with the windows on the ceiling is so big. But not just that, it also makes you feel more connected to the outside world! Like when the rain is falling and you can see the raindrops right above you! I just love that!
The little hallway with the sky ceiling brings us to our final stop of this unique tiny home, the bedroom!
This little nook with a queen-sized bed is surrounded by windows on all sides allowing you to have some beautiful views from the moment you wake up and for the sunlight to enter your place.
I’d love spending my time here, just relaxing with a book hidden in one of the white cabinets opposite the bed and enjoying the scenery.
Something tells me that you definitely won’t judge a book by its cover after seeing what was actually hiding behind the exterior of that school bus!
Are you a fan of tiny living in a renovated bus or would you prefer something that wasn’t a vehicle before you started working on it? Do let me know!
