Have you ever heard of the term “summer kitchen”? It’s the kitchen which isn’t connected to the rest of the house, it’s its own separate room.
My aunt used to have one of those and I just loved visiting her. Of course, that kitchen wasn’t used only in the summertime; however that was the best time to use it.
For some reason, it never had the aesthetic of the rest of the house. The rest of it was quite modern for the time, but the summer kitchen had more of a rustic feel and some brightness to it that can’t be explained with words! I mean, if a kid loves visiting it, you know it’s bright and fun!
Well the container house that I’ll be showing you today, immediately reminded me of that summer kitchen. It has a certain dose of brightness, positivity and life within itself, which immediately made me love it!
As we enter the container home, the first room that awaits is the kitchen. I’m not surprised considering how much this place reminded me of one!
The pure sight of this kitchen leaves me imagining so many yummy smells! I can already picture cutting up some veggies on that L-shaped countertop and making some warm soup.
And then proceeding to take some baking amenities from the white cabinets in preparation for a little sweet treat, such as a mini cake! I may be a choco lover, but my aunt always had the most delicious fruits in her garden so this place is making me crave some fruity sweet too!
When all of the meals are done and ready to be served, everyone can move into the cozy dining area that’s right next to the kitchen!
Round chairs and the built-in couch are only awaiting some fun company to come sit at the brown table and to fill this room with loud laughter and sounds of approval of the tasty meals!
Something I really like are the hanging shelves above the table! They can be pretty functional and have some salt and pepper on display, but also serve as an amazing place to add some decor and add even more personalization to the room!
Over in the living room, I can already taste orange juice. I’d say coffee nowadays but I was still a child most of the time I spent at my aunt’s place, and it was always the adults having coffee.
The gray L-shaped couch seems like an amazing place for a post-lunch gathering where everyone relaxes, sips on coffee placed on the mini brown table and talks for hours on end.
Something I can’t help but notice is the gorgeous wall decor of this living area! I’d love having all of those framed photos and the wooden mirrors in my own place too! They completely fit my aesthetic!
Last but certainly not least is the bedroom.
I already know I’d have the best naps ever on this comfy bed, however that’s not my favorite part of the room. My number one favorite are the floor-to-ceiling windows! They allow so much natural light to enter and provide some lovely views! Who wouldn’t have them as a no1!
Do you agree that this container home holds that brightness and joy I talked about?
I feel like it seems so comfy and cozy, that even if you don’t have memories connected to a place similar to this one, there’s a certain nostalgia within it which could reach just about anyone.
