A house shaped like a fox’s head?
Now I’ve seen everything!
The Copper Fox treehouse is real, even though it looks like something straight out of a cartoon. This unique design stands out in the woods and makes you think you’re dreaming. Well, staying in this house is definitely a dream come true.
I’ve seen all kinds of houses, but never anything like this unique build.
But, is the Copper Fox Treehouse worth the hype? Is it as promising as it looks from the outside?
That’s what foxes me and that’s what we’re about to see.
Isn’t It Foxy?
The Copper Fox is quite foxy, both from the inside and outside. Coming up that 500 feet uphill trail is an exercise, but at the end of the road is a relaxing retreat. The entire treehouse was built by hand, using local resources and wood from the owner’s land.
It’s located on 9 acres of land, in the woods next to the Bradbury Mountain State Park. It’s one of the many, undiscovered gems of Maine, and I hope it stays hidden and reserved for only true adventurers.
The Materials That Made Everything Beautiful
What blew me away was the fact the house does really look like a fox’s head. It’s not almost or resembling. It’s identical! The color combination of the walls, the copper roof over the snout, and even ears and angled windows as eyes! All of it represents a real fox.
Unlike most houses in the woods that look exactly like they were designed somewhere else and just brought there, the Copper Fox looks like it belongs in the woods. The owners did a tremendous job adapting it to the surroundings, making sure nature doesn’t get compromised.
Hey, they even left those two trees peeking through the deck!
Talk about sustainability, right?
Airy Feeling When You Step Inside
Inside the house is one big open space with different areas. It’s a living room/ bedroom/ kitchen and dining room, all in one.
The Prettiest Shade Of Green
What I love about this space are the warm colors, a bunch of shades of brown, orange, and even yellow, along with natural wood walls and floors, with a pop of green in the kitchen. The inside was definitely inspired by forest colors in early fall.
For a treehouse, this kitchen is quite big, and there’s even plenty of space in the dining nook. This shade of forest green along with gold hardware and details looks super cozy and makes me wish it was fall season already. Oh, imagine a little getaway trip in October, right in this treehouse! I can’t wait to plan it!
In The Snout
The main area in the house is definitely the snout. Oops, I mean the master bedroom area with a comfy queen bed and a breathtaking view behind it. If you look closely, you’ll notice some pretty foxy details, like that figurine on the nightstand, next to the house.
They’re Everywhere
Throughout the treehouse, you will find random fox decorations when you least expect them.
I mean, I never thought I’ll see a little fox above my bathroom door, but here it is!
I wonder where they found all of this!
Spot The Fox
There are even foxes and other woodland creatures on wallpapers in the bathroom!
After a while, it kind of becomes a game, spot the fox!
I gotta say, the more I look at the interior design of the treehouse, the more I love it. There’s something so elegant and charming about deep green shades with gold and brown accents. I almost though this was a luxurious hotel bathroom! Wow!
What’s Up There?
The last area of the house is actually a loft accessible with those ladders you see in the main living area. It’s a spot meant for the kids bedroom.
However, the owner specifically stated that only bigger kids, years 12 and up, should hang out in this area due to safety reasons. There’s a nice, bean bag that turns into a mattress and makes you feel like you’re lying on a cloud.
The area is inside the ears of the Copper Fox, and it’s got the best view in the house.
The Fox is a haven for adventurers who love exploring the woods, hiking on trails, and enjoying nature above everything. I gotta add, that it’s so far the most unique house I’ve ever seen, and I’ve seen them a lot.
I mean, who on Earth would ever think of a house shaped like a fox’s head?
How cool is that?
