When you think of a cottage, which image comes to your mind? Most of the time it’s something quite old-school with lots of brown, right? But, they’re actually not all like that! What if I told you that you can enjoy a nice, relaxing time in a cottage house with a modern twist? Yup, it’s possible!
I’m all about breaking stereotypes so I’m loving the term “modern cottage house”!
This gorgeous place has a black exterior with quite a lot of outside space which can be used for so many things!
It already has two deck chairs but imagine adding some other details! Such as a tiny table for some morning coffee before work, or maybe a bigger one so you can have dinner outside as well. The cherry on top would be a grill so those dinners can be extra delicious!
The outside area just seems so lovely that I could keep thinking of new things to add in front of the house for ages! But, it’s not only the outside area that’s stunning, just prepare for what’s to come when you get inside!
Have you seen this beauty of a living area coming? Well, you might have, considering the exterior was stunning too, but that doesn’t make the interior any less special!
What’s amazing is that there is such a good balance of dark and light colors! On one hand a dark wall with a black fireplace faces white walls with light colored furniture! And even though they’re complete opposites they match so perfectly!
A huge plus when it comes to this house are the floor-to-ceiling windows. They allow so much natural light to get inside and you have the most beautiful picturesque views thanks to them!
With such a spacious living room I could totally imagine inviting a bunch of friends over. Just sitting around the gray couch and the brown chair and catching up on everything. Afterwards we’d have a movie night on a flat-screen TV opposite the couch. Now I’m craving a day like that!
The kitchen in this house is every minimalist’s dream! White cabinets and white countertops make this room feel so clean and orderly! Even those who aren’t minimalists won’t help but adore this kitchen (I’m one of those people!).
But of course, some food coloring is always welcome! So, grab all the supplies and let’s start thinking of the next menu!
Once again, we have the perfect balance in this house because after an all-white kitchen, there comes a black dining table with blue chairs! You can make a nice little feast for that friend gathering I talked about and enjoy it here!
Moving over to the bedroom which has so many regular yet unique features. Around the bed are two white bedside tables, so far it sounds pretty ordinary, right?. But they have a circular shape with unusual drawers which makes them stand out.
Lamps are also not placed on top of the tables but instead they’re hung from the window and give off a reflector light vibe! Don’t get me wrong though, I’m obsessed with all these cool and unusual details!
The best thing about this room, however, are the glass doors. Not only can you get so much natural light inside as if it’s a huge window, but you can go out and get some fresh air whenever!
I’d totally add a tiny table and a chair in front of these doors, either for morning coffee or late night relaxing.
The bathroom doesn’t disappoint as it stays on the black and white theme as well. Not only are the white cabinet, black countertop, white sink and a black shower on track, but the artwork is too! I love a cohesive home!
Okay, now for something I left for the end as a cherry on top.
This place has a tiny attic which you can decorate any way you want! You can add a bed and some decor and turn it into another bedroom! Or, you can make a nice office area for yourself! There’s so much potential in this space!
This is a great place for minimalists seeing the simple black and white aesthetic, but also for maximalists as it’s an excellent base to build onto! It’s simply perfect for anyone!
