If Hobbits Liked Minimalism, Then This Tiny House Would Be Bilbo Baggins’ Ultimate Burrow

If Hobbits Liked Minimalism, Then This Tiny House Would Be Bilbo Baggins’ Ultimate Burrow

Sharing is caring!

If Bilbo was on the market, looking for a new burrow, this house would be his next home!

If by some chance the whole hobbit community was going modern, this is the kind of house a modern, trendy, and open-minded hobbit would pick.

And, if the Bag End wasn’t located in Hobbiton, but instead in, oh, I don’t know, Tennessee maybe, this house would be the first choice.

I present to you, The Sassafras Dome Earth House, a contemporary twist on a hobbits burrow!

The Burrow

From the far, the Sassafras looks like a real burrow, but much tidier, as if someone was taking great care of its exterior. It’s nestled among the woods and covered by grass, making it appear original.

This Tennessee beauty is actually a tiny home with one bedroom and one bathroom, ideal as a couple’s retreat or a hideout for one person. Either way, relaxation is guaranteed.

Stepping closer, you’ll notice that the modern burrow actually consists of two smaller ones.

There’s Two Of Them

Think of it as two separate wings of the house with the bedroom suite in one, and the family room in the other.

Just by looking at the front of the burrows, I can see the inside promises an airy feeling and lots of light, something you’re not used to seeing in a hobbit’s house.

That Coffee Table Is Incredible

And I was right! Stepping inside you don’t get the feeling you’re entering Bilbo’s private chambers. The first burrow is an open-concept room with a living room and a kitchen adjacent. It’s bright, cozy, and a bit trendy if I might add.

And it’s everything a modern hobbit could want!

Fit For A Second Breakfast

Probably the most important thing a hobbit could want is food. Don’t worry, that’s covered too!

With a double fridge, plenty of working space, and storage, anyone could whip up a tasty meal here. Although the house is technically an Airbnb, I could absolutely see people living here, and not just Bilbo!

What Makes This Bathroom So Unique

Right next to the kitchen is a shabby, but chic bathroom with gorgeous elements I absolutely adore! It’s the mirror and the vanity combination, something that looks like a DIY project with small wood logs, that makes this bathroom so unique!

The color palette of the house is so bright and light, with shades of concrete grey, beige, and white as the primary colors.

A Bit Of Elvish Vibes

The bedroom has the same vibe as the living room, with airy materials and a comfy feeling. It’s big enough to fit a nice bed and some details, facing directly at the gorgeous view outside.

The Sassafrass has black trim windows and doors with picturesque sights. They make such a great contrast agains the white walls and the entire vibe of the place.

If you thought the tour of the house was over, think again.

There’s something else outside that will make you want to spend a night here and unleash your inner hobbit.

Just Like The Shire

It’s the outside hot tub, down by the lake, that makes this experience so unique. Even a hobbit would want to take a bath in here!

It may not be the Shire, but it sure is small and idyllic, just like the motherland.

The Picture-Perfect Hobbit House

If this is not the picture-perfect hobbit house together with its area, then what is?

Stepping into this space feels like you’ve wandered straight into a hobbit’s dreamland—calm, cozy, and just begging for a leisurely feast.

You half expect to see hobbits lounging nearby, debating second breakfast or planning the world’s most relaxed adventure. The air feels lighter, as if the forest itself is humming a gentle tune meant only for its smallest, happiest residents.

It’s the perfect blend of whimsy and wonder, where even the trees seem to nod knowingly, as if they’ve hosted many a hobbit gathering. Honestly, if you don’t leave craving a pint and a long chat by the fire, are you even hobbiting properly?
