If you’ve ever watched those classic Hollywood movies, chances are that you’ve admired the stunning, timeless homes that came up on the screen.
Ever wondered what style those elegant homes were, hoping to one day find or create one just like it? Well, wonder no more since I’m about to let you in on the secret.
They’re known as mid-century modern – a design movement that effortlessly blends simplicity, functionality, and a touch of Hollywood glamor. Whether it’s the clean lines, organic shapes, or the seamless indoor-outdoor flow, mid-century modern homes embody a timeless elegance that continues to inspire architects and designers to this day.
If you are still not sure what I am talking about then let me show you.
Welcome!
Coming off the street and stepping inside the courtyard, you immediately feel relaxed. The perfect blend of greenery and stone welcomes you while the incredible tile path leads you to the front door.
The first room you see as you step inside is the den.
The Den
Featuring an L-shaped couch, a bar, and some superb art, the only thing you can feel in this room is peace. Plus, its mixture of browns and greens makes it the definition of intimacy.
As you walk further into the house you will stumble upon the main living room.
Retro Vibes
The living room continues that color scheme but this time it opts for a lighter finish. The browns dominate the floor while whites take over the walls and the ceilings. I absolutely adore those large windows that emit enough natural light to illuminate the entire room.
The retro designs on the couch and those stunning coffee tables really make this room look like it belongs in a classic American show!
The Table That Impresses
Connected to the living room is the dining area.
I absolutely love the design of this space. The center stage takes up a huge wooden table that is surrounded by incredibly soft chairs.
On one side of the dining table are the large windows covered up with curtains, while the other side houses those stunning wooden cabinets. Oh, and how could I forget that huge painting hung up on that featured wall?
I don’t know about you guys but I would definitely have trouble picking which side of the table I would sit at. Regardless, one thing is for certain: I would be guaranteed a meal with a view!
State-Of-The-Art
Isolated in its own room is the kitchen.
Even though it also gives off those retro vibes with that beautiful wood, all of the appliances are state-of-the-art.
I absolutely love the fact that everything is covered in wood. It makes the space feel super warm and cozy, almost like that stew our moms tend to make on rainy days. I can smell it through the photo!
Enter The Study Mode
Speaking of cozy rooms, let’s make our way down to the hallway and into the study.
Featuring a minimalistic design, this room is sure to make you as productive as possible.
All you have to do is imagine yourself as one of those old-school detectives working on a really hard case and bum – your work will be done in no time!
When you finish you are bound to be super tired. Well, don’t you worry bout a thing because the bedroom of this house is a true gem.
The Best Sleepover Ever
Featuring a queen-sized bed that is like sleeping on clouds, trust me when I tell you that it will give you the best sleep ever. And just look at those adorable nightstands. Talk about staying on theme!
Also, not only does this room also feature those wooden details and huge windows, but here they can open up allowing you full access to the backyard straight from your bed.
It’s Crystal Clear
Oh, and did I mention that the backyard comes with a pool?!
That’s right! A stunning pool with clear blue water will be shouting out your name, calling you to take a refreshing dip.
Plus, the fact that this home is located on a hill gives you the perfect views while you are taking in that beautiful sunshine.
I don’t know about you guys but as a retro lover myself, I can’t help but feel that I need this home in my life.
Everything about it is absolutely perfect – from the vibrant color scheme and stunning design to the breathtaking backyard. It’s like this home was plucked straight from a classic movie set.
What do you guys think? Are you sold on mid-century modern homes like I am?
