Here’s What Happens When An Industrial Material Gets Turned Into A Romantic Haven

Here’s What Happens When An Industrial Material Gets Turned Into A Romantic Haven

Sharing is caring!

A friend of mine just shared with me this awesome place she and her husband went to for the weekend. It was their anniversary and they decided to celebrate in a nice, private place, somewhere romantic.

Knowing her husband, I was expecting a camping site because the man is totally into wildlife and outdoorsy living. But this…

This is more like glamping!

They spent two days showering each other in romance, enjoying unspoiled nature around them, as well as some much-needed peace away from the kids. They stayed at The Hive, a shipping container Airbnb in Easley, South Carolina, and they had a blast!

The Container House With A View

Of course, I had to check out The Hive the moment she told me about it!

And, guess what? I get why they loved it so much here. I would love it too!

You’ve got your own, tiny container house with a view of the Saluda Lake, forest, birds chirping, and nothing but your own solitude in two.

Open The Doors!

One of the greatest features of this house is the four garage doors which allow the visitor to create open spaces, be one with nature, and enjoy stunning views. When all the doors are up, there are almost no boundaries between the areas in the house and the spacious deck.

The doors are up and you have that gorgeous view from the comfort of your bed.

Just imagine the scenario: you’re in bed, snuggled under the blanket, and the air is fresh and filled with coffee your partner is bringing to you. The two of you watch the serenity of the lake together and enjoy the moment while it lasts.

Oh, where do I sign up?!

More Coziness Inside

The bedroom isn’t the only great thing about this house, although it has a top-notch king-size bed. There’s also a living room and a spacious kitchen to ease your stay here and help you focus on what’s really important: time spent together.

My friend said it was raining one day when they were there. Nothing too heavy, but still enough to keep them inside during most of the day. Thankfully, they had something to do inside the house too. That lovely grey couch is perfect for those long conversations every couple has. And it comes with a bonus: once again the gorgeous view.

Such An Adorable Kitchen

When they weren’t talking, they were in the kitchen, cooking together. I love cooking with my partner because that bonds us better than anything else.

This kitchen was made exactly for bonding and sharing meals. Oh, and I love how it was designed in style, with deep green cabinets, butcher block countertops, and floating shelves. And let’s not forget the divinity of the black, texturized, hexagon tiles. What a beauty! I just love it when backsplash walls are this pretty!

The Bathroom You Didn’t Expect

Right through that door, you see from the kitchen is the bathroom.

Continuing the same style and the same color palette with contrasting colors, the bathroom is a spacious room with interesting details. If you look closer, you’ll see that the shower isn’t a normal shower. The back of it is another garage door which opens to…

Are You Ready?

… the prettiest outdoor tubs ever!

They’re on the deck, in an area secluded from the peering eyes (not that there are people nearby, but still…) by wood planks. The fact they’re outside is a great bonus. But the fact that they have such an elegant shape and black hardware next to them is something I love even more.

If one tub is too small to bathe with your partner, then two would be juuust fine.

We’re Coming!

I have to say, there are a lot of romantic things to do out here, like sitting by the firepit overlooking the lake. Or, taking a dip if the weather is good if you know what I mean.

My partner and I desperately need a weekend at such a place where we can focus on each other, not just our daily problems. We need to feel the romance again, and I believe this is the right place for it.

South Carolina, the Hive house, here we come!
