Any future honeymooners outthere? Of course, there are some, I know you’re reading and wondering if I will ever suggest a cool honeymoon spot.
Well, guess what? Today is the day!
If today’s Nora would have to decide where to go on a honeymoon, this Indiana cabin would be high on my list. Secluded, far from city noise, with trees and birds as your only neighbors, the cabin you’re about to see is a little escape place just for a couple in love.
Let the sweetest period of your life begin!
Honeymoon Material
My honeymoon was a classic one: in Hawaii. I wouldn’t change a thing because we both loved it so much. However, if you ask a thirty-something Nora, she might have some other ideas in mind too. Back then, I was all about the ocean and the beach.
Today, I might suggest a cabin getaway in a place like this. Doesn’t it sound romantic? Just you and your partner, going on a honeymoon somewhere unconventional, somewhere cozy and comfortable.
Middlebury, Indiana, is a bit far from where I am, but for a rustic cabin like this one, I think I’d walk.
Okay, maybe not really walk, but I’d go beyond my boundaries just to spend a couple of nights here.
The cabin is a standard log building with a lovely porch and a loft. What impresses me the most about this build isn’t just the structure and the position in the forest. It’s the stained log walls that tell stories of how they’ve been there for ages.
This Honeymoon Won’t Be Boring At All
We all know what we do on honeymoon, but when you stay at a place like this Indiana cabin, you will want to explore. Whether you go out on a hike through the woods or simply hang out outside, the cabin will offer you a fun staycation.
So, when you get tired of… lying in bed, you can head outside, light a fire at the pit, and enjoy the tranquil surroundings and the sound of birds in the distance.
The Coziness I Didn’t Expect
I was expecting a lot of things, but this amount of coziness not.
When you step inside the cabin you’ll be just as surprised as I was because I was greeted by a lovely mixture of traditional and farmhouse styles.
And I love it!
I always prefer classic options with leather furniture and massive stone fireplaces, but a change is always nice.
The living room area inside the cabin features incredibly soft and comfortable sofas and armchairs that have modern farmhouse vibes written all over it.
The light grey against the dark wood in the cabin works its magic and creates a sophisticated atmosphere in the room. A sophisticated cabin? Now that’s a first!
Sticking With Traditional Options
Yes, the massive stone fireplace is missing, but there’s another source of warmth in the cabin. The rustic-looking black metal log burner. Both options have its charm, but I believe the log burner like the one in the living room has more charm.
Sure, fireplaces are amazing, but this is more private and cozy.
All that this scene is missing is the fire burning and you two love birds sitting together on the sofa before it, snuggling and enjoying the fire crackling.
A Little Farmhouse Kitchen Is Just What You Need
Moss green cabinets? Oh, yes, please!
The kitchen in the cabin is a rather small one, but when you have cabinets in such a lovely color, even small is enough. I can’t explain how much I love this shade of green. Whoever was the interior designer surely knew what he was doing.
Combining such color in a cabin with many wooden elements makes the entire place feel a whole lot closer to nature.
There are other things I absolutely love in here, such as the open shelves instead of upper cabinets, the lovely white farmhouse sink, and the wooden frame around the small window- the real showstopper!
Sleep Tight, Don’t Let The Bed Bugs Bite
There are no bugs in here but you two snuggle bugs!
Every honeymooner needs to have a nice bed to… relax and gather energy for new adventures.
The cabin actually comes with a bedroom loft instead of the traditional bedroom.
The loft is one spacious part with a lovely queen bed and plenty of rustic charm. It’s not just the bed that makes me so crazy about this part of the cabin. It’s the beautiful log work on the walls, especially behind the bed.
Stunning!
What’s Hiding Behind That Farmhouse Door?
Oh, the farmhouse door is too lovely!
But, that’s not the real surprise. Stepping right from the kitchen, you’ll find yourself in the bathroom. The bathroom is a small, rustic, and unique room in the cabin that will surprise you, that’s for sure.
All you can see in this picture is the white throne and a glimpse of the mirror and vanity combo. Still, I like what I see and I bet the entire bathroom looks incredible!
Trusting The Raw Beauty
I can’t tell you how much I appreciate that there are no tiles in the bathroom. The log walls are so authentic and much more effective than just… tiles. When you have a rustic-looking cabin, you want to do everything you can to keep it rustic and not too modern.
Wooden log walls are too incredible. They’re such beautiful elements and make the entire bathroom look super unique.
To add even more uniqueness to this bathroom, there’s also a walk-in shower in a wooden box, something you don’t see every day!
