We All Need A House Like This As Our Getaway Home

Sharing is caring!

Picture this: it’s Friday afternoon and you’ve just come home. The kids are excited about the upcoming weekend and your partner has that look on his face. It’s an idea in the making: Grab your bags, let’s spend the weekend at our getaway home.

It’s a plan. It’s promising a great weekend. And it’s all because you have a house like this!

The Black Beauty

Call it as you want, but I can’t find a better name for this house project other than The Black Beauty. And it truly is beautiful.

The contemporary twist of the getaway home created using three 40’ HC containers boasts beauty from every corner. Now, I’m not usually a fan of dark colors and the wood against the metal, but it’s growing on me, slowly but steadily.

What I thought once was too rigid and cold for families, now seems so warm and welcoming.

The first look of the Black Beauty promises a lot with its corrugated metal walls, black railing, and exposed wooden beams. It’s a drop of modernism in the middle of nowhere with a touch of nature.

The covered deck is where I see the life going on when the family is outside. In my opinion, every getaway home has to have a grill for those fast but incredibly delicious meals. This deck has two sitting areas, one for dining and one for chilling.

What I love the most about this part of the house are the details, especially the hanging lights which shine warm, yellow light, creating a cozy atmosphere.

Where Modern Meets Boho

Inside the house is a place where modern meets boho-style. It’s the details that give this house warmth and welcoming vibes.

As with most homes these days, this one is also designed as an open space with a full kitchen, a dining area, an island, and a living room. What I truly admire about this house is the use of traditional, natural materials such as the dining chairs and table right next to modern elements, and the bar stools with interesting metal legs.

On the other end of the room is a family area with a comfy sofa and an armchair, packed with breathtaking details.

Sure, the green plant photos are lovely and they kind of wake up the entire room, but this… This is simply magnificent! One of my favorite pieces in the entire house is this shelf made using old pipes, bent and painted black to give out the industrial chic feeling.

Behind the living area is the bathroom. This house has only one bathroom, but it’s sufficient since it was built for one small family.

While the rest of the house has industrial chic and boho vibes, the bathroom is luxuriously equipped. The black and gold accents such as the towel handles, the black trimming around the mirror, and the marble finishes double the value everywhere.

On the opposite end of the house is the bedroom wing with a kids’ bedroom and the parents’ room.

The kids’ room has ample space, just enough for a bed and a desk. The closet and the shelves are strategically placed on the wall behind the bed to maximize the space in the room. A great thing about this room is the nice, big window that lets in natural light and wakes the kids up the good old-fashioned way.

The parents’ room is similar in design with one exception which is the see-through closet.

Both rooms have a combination bed and desk right next to each other. However, the parents’ room has a nook by the window that doubles as a shelf, and that closet with glass doors. The room has clean and sleek vibes with earthy tones that help you unwind and recharge your batteries.

When we take an overall look at the house, we can see how neatly placed everything is here, fully functional and adjusted to family needs.

If I had a getaway house like this one, I’d be spending every weekend there. What about you?

Does owning another house, beautifully designed like this one, sound good to you?
