Step Inside A Cabin Inspired By Old Folktales And Relive The Magic

Step Inside A Cabin Inspired By Old Folktales And Relive The Magic

Sharing is caring!

As a kid, I used to devour fairytales. You know, the really old ones. I always pictures scenes from them in my head, and not to mention, their houses too.

My kids have Disney and they did almost every fairytale. The don’t need to imagine anything. But, as for me, the love for the written word will never fade and I’ll always prefer books where I can imagine things over movies.

This cabin in North Carolina looks exactly like it belongs in a fairytale, or maybe even a folktale. I expect to see Hansel and Gretel stepping outside, or even Little Red Riding Hood.

The fairytale vibes and the interesting exterior surely make this one of the most desirable places to check out in the area.

So, why don’t we check it out too?

A Cabin That Reminds Me Of Old Folktales

There must be an old folktale that goes something like this: “There once was a cabin in the woods…”

With its detailed millwork, and the unique exterior of shingles and stone, the North Carolina cabin in Cashiers, looks like it fell straight outta the Brothers Grimm book. Fairytale vibes, old times aesthetics, and soothing energy that comes from it guarantee the place is worth your time.

I see a lovely exterior, greenery all over the place, and tranquil woods, and I’m already sold. I can’t even imagine what happens when I see the inside.

The Showstopping Details

Normally, cabins are log buildings with simple construction. But there’s nothing simple about this cabin. The intricate millwork above the door and on other parts of the house says this is a special place.

Can we stop for a moment before we go in and admire the upcycling of old branches and logs to create an outdoor artwork? If the exterior is this beautiful, the interior will surely knock us off our feet.

The Grandiose Fireplace That Warms Even The Coldest Hearts

Again with fairytales… I can’t help but rest assured that this fireplace could melt the ice off even the coldest hearts! The Snow Queen would become the Fire Queen if she ever stepped foot inside this living room.

I, on the other hand, don’t have the heart of ice, but I do love sitting by the fire and watching it dance. The fireplace in the cabin is a spectacular one. Stone by stone, each laid perfectly neatly to create a masterpiece is what makes me so nuts about it.

The fact it reaches high up to the ceiling makes me crazy about it even more!

The entire setup of the living room is focused on the fireplace and enjoying the toasty atmosphere. Other furniture pieces, such as the shelves or the unique coffee table only add up beauty points to the room.

Eating Like A Family

Technically, the living room is not just a living room. It’s an open concept with an adjacent kitchen and dining area. Once again, the open concept proved how beautiful it is. The wonderful wooden kitchen can be seen from the sofa, so if you’re cooking for your family, you can always stay in touch with the convo.

I love the rustic appearance of the kitchen cabinets, but I love the fact it’s spacious even more!

When you think about it, having a breakfast bar by the counter as well as the classic dining room table and chairs only proves how spacious this cabin is. The entire 1,973 sq ft of space makes this cabin a mansion, a chalet, and one luxurious mountain getaway!

The Many Details That Count

The thing with the kitchen isn’t just its spaciousness. It’s the many details that turn this spot in the house from an ordinary kitchen to a spectacular one.

For starters, they kept the tall ceilings in here as well, leaving exposed wooden beams for extra charm.

Then, there was enough of room to place an island as the centerpiece in the kitchen. You literally get two kitchens in one with a common item, the island.

I know this is only a getaway place in the wilderness of North Carolina, but I wouldn’t mind having a replica of this kitchen in my home. You can actually live in here without any issues, and lead a comfortable life if you don’t mind having squirrels as your first-door neighbors!

Never Missing Deadlines…

… when you can work from such an office!

My home office is too small and barely fits my desk. It’s not too pretty either. But this… I have to admit I envy whoever gets to use this office space. Not only does it come with a nice, wooden desk, there’s also a sofa in the back and one incredibly cool coffee table.

When you’re in the zone, and you don’t want to break it, you can have your coffee break right on this sofa and no one can bug you.

Where Did They Get That Sink?

Sure, the walk-in is nice… the tiles are beautiful… oh, the black granite vanity is cool too… But they all aren’t what made me fall in love with this bathroom.

I know what you’re gonna think: how can you fall in love with a bathroom?

Easily, especially when it’s got such a stunning copper sink!

Seriously, where did they get this? It looks like it’s been in the family for ages, or at least found in an antique store in a tiny town.

I’m A Porch Girl For Life

I grew up in a house with a porch. My grandparents had one too. I LOVE this part of the house so much, even if it’s a tiny one. You couldn’t understand my happiness when I saw this is actually a screened porch with some nice extras like the grill in the back.

No bad weather can stop you from having that barbecue party. This is so much better than an outside dining area with the classic table and chairs setup. Just grill some burgers, grab a place, sit back in one of those chairs, and be wild for once.

Such Bedrooms Will Never Go Out Of Style

You may or may not like it, but a classic bedroom like this one will never go out of style. When you don’t know what to pick, play safe and go with a wooden frame bed, traditional wooden furniture, and ultimate coziness.

As the master bedroom, one out of four in total, this one has such nice vibes. I can picture myself sleeping in here, getting plenty of sleep, and finally relaxing my achy back. Two kids and late thirties make you have different priorities in life.

Right now, my top priority is to sleep for 12 hours in this bedroom and completely fall apart in its comfort.

I Remember Apartments Smaller Than This Bathroom

I won’t lie, my first place was smaller than this bathroom!

The cabin is surely big, but I didn’t expect such large bathrooms, especially since there are three of them. This one here even features the gorgeous soak-in tub AND a spacious glass walk-in shower. Oh, and a double vanity too!

The bathroom continues in the same color palette as the rest of the house with wooden cabinets, beige tiles, and lots of wooden details that warm up the room.
