If it wasn’t for desert critters, I’d be happy with just the pool and the lounges. But, since this is actually a site about tiny houses, we don’t have to ditch the house too, in this case, a container.
Hi there folks and thanks for being with me today. This container house is not like the houses you’re used to seeing from me. It’s simple, but I had to show it to you.
The fact it’s on the edge of the New Mexico desert and features a lovely pool just bought me. I can’t stop thinking about it!
Here, let me show you where you can escape to restart your mind!
Come On In, The Water Is Fine
It’s not the fancy container house that makes the people wanna come over. It’s the location that’s spectacular!
The Nature Retreat is just a short drive away from Los Cruces, New Mexico. It’s a simple getaway place with a pool, a container to spend the night, and nothing but the endless vastness of the desert.
The property is bordering with the New Mexico desert so don’t be surprised by occasional visitors like lizards in your backyard.
The Saltwater Paradise
The fact that the pool is actually a saltwater pool surprised me. What a nice detail! I don’t get to check out a lot of such pools and they’re my favorite kinds.
Having such a cool feature in the desert increases the value of this getaway spot. The focus in the backyard is the pool with lounges nearby. All you can do around here is swim, sunbathe and relax.
And I couldn’t think of anything else even if I wanted to.
Since nights in the desert get a bit chilly, lighting a fire in the yard and sitting by it as the sky gets sprinkled with stars, is the best thing to do at night.
Breakfast With A View
The best idea was to put such a large, picturesque window in the kitchen of the container. There is really no need for upper kitchen cabinets since this is actually more a kitchenette than a full kitchen.
This way, making a quick breakfast before you head out for hiking or swimming gets even better when you get to look at something.
The inside of the container is pretty straightforward. Everything is white, clean, and down to Earth. No unnecessary details, no furniture that could come in the way.
Small But Sufficient
Of course, there is a place to sleep in the container, but the idea of sleeping under the stars sounds perfect.
Well, I’m a coward so sleeping somewhere with bugs, and maybe even scorpios outside is a no for me. I’d rather pick a bed, or in this case a pull-out sofa, and be happy about it.
As I said, you come here for the location and the pool, not really the container. The furniture in the other part of the container is also simple, but again, you have your sofa/bed a dining table, an armchair, an AC unit, and even a bathroom in the back.
Small, but sufficient room for a fast getaway trip into the desert
