Making your own trends and deciding what you want is totally the way to go, I always preach it! Whether we’re talking about how to decorate our shelves or which furniture to choose.
However, trends will come each year! It doesn’t matter if we’re talking about fashion, accessorizes or, of course, housing. The trends always come and go, and it’s on you whether you like following them or setting your own!
For those who like to stick with the on-going trends and be on top of their game when it comes to being in-style I’ve brought you 11 color trends you’ll see in 2025! These colors will paint the entirety of the upcoming year so sit back and choose which one speaks to you the most!
1. Encore Blue
The first color that has to be mentioned is the dark blue color named Encore. The reason I said that it has to be mentioned first is because I’d say it perfectly represents all of the colors that are going to be trending in 2025! Quite dark and perfect for both minimalism and maximalism.
It’s a dark, deep hue excellent as a background color on your walls or as decor! You can see in the photo above how the mixture of blue and white on the walls, excellently matches the same mixture when it comes to furniture and decorations!
We all know blue is famous for being quite a calming color as well, so what would a list of colors be without the trendiest blue shade at the moment!
2. Rumors Red
You want a fiery color that will add some boldness into your space but don’t want to go too much out of the earthy-tone vibe? This dark ruby red color called Rumors is the perfect solution!
It can be an amazing color for your furniture in case you want to add some spark to your neutral surroundings such as beige but if you want to take it one step further and switch beige walls with ruby decor the other way around, I totally support it!
2025 is the year of going big and bold. Yes, even in minimalism!
3. Dark Violet
The pure name of the color Violet has that warmth and sweetness to it, however the Violet trending in the upcoming year is the one with a little bit of a darker tone.
This color shows the recent growth of maximalism as it goes well with a variety of fabrics and textures, especially the elegant yet maximalist ones (think luxurious rooms in violet color mixed with gold).
4. Caramelized Brown
Taking a step back from all of the dark colors mentioned so far to show a bit of a different shade for the next trendy color which is Caramelized.
I think we can all agree how amazing cozy interior is. You know the living rooms with fireplaces and little reading nooks in the corner or bedrooms which feel like getaways? They all feel so warm and comfy and need some neutral color representing them!
So, in case you’re interested in having a neutral or cozy interior, you already know where to look because we already have the 2025 representative cozy shade!
5. Truffle Brown
As mentioned at the beginning, deeper and darker shades are going to be one of the lead colors in 2025 so it’s no surprise that we’re already back to seeing yet another darker shade!
What we haven’t strayed away from, however, compared to the previously mentioned color is the coziness! Yes cozy interiors often include lighter colors but that’s not to say darker ones don’t have their fair share of shine as well!
The Truffle brown would be an excellent choice for a cozy home which craves a little bit of that rustic feel to it. Then again, this color is so universal that it can go from rustic all the way to modern which means that you can combine it with a variety of furniture!
6. Raku Red
The earthy color aesthetic is on top of its game at the moment and will continue being on top in the year 2025 as well! So, we have to welcome a very special shade of red called Raku which is a brownish red color with an earthy background!
Despite red being quite a fiery and bold color, this specific shade takes on a little bit of a different role with the paint color director Philippa Radon calling it “an expression of balance, comfort, and timeless elegance”.
7. Mustard Yellow
I already know you’ve been waiting for this! In the sea of dark and deep colors, everyone needs a little bit of vibrancy and something more light to come up and add some liveliness!
For all you who prefer light and more vivid colors, I’m sure you’ll love to see that yellow will also be in trend in the upcoming year!
However, I’m not talking about any kind of yellow, I’m talking about mustard yellow. Yes, we still aren’t going the full vivid or neon way but are keeping things more mellow with the shading but despite that this sunshine-like color will surely brighten up your space however you use it!
8. Mochi Beige
Neutral colors are a very common thing when it comes to interior design. In the late 2010s black and white were everywhere, however since we entered the 2020s things slowly started to switch into more beige and brown shades.
So I present to you the top neutral color of 2025, the Mochi color.
As Mochi is quite a neutral color, it comes as no surprise that it matches pretty much with everything you could imagine! It could be a nice background for a lot of maximalist furniture and decor, but it could also serve as the main color of a minimalist room.
9. Mapped Blue
We often see neutral colors being described as practical and able to fit any aesthetic (such as the color right above this one) however other colors can also carry that role very well!
Take a look at the Mapped Blue color. This unique shade of blue with yellow undertones is a true example of a shade adaptable to so many different things!
I could totally imagine someone rocking this shade and matching it with very vivid decor, slightly giving that retro yet trendy style to the home. But also, on the other hand, I can also picture this beautiful color as a background piece for a very elegant living room!
10. Mocha Mousse
Pantone’s ‘Mocha Mousse’ color is like the warm hug your living room didn’t know it needed.
This rich, earthy tone transforms walls into cozy cocoons, perfect for rainy days and endless cups of coffee. It’s the color equivalent of wrapping your space in a cashmere blanket—soft, inviting, and oh-so-stylish.
Paired with creamy neutrals or vibrant accents, it can go from a sophisticated dinner party to a Netflix binge with effortless charm. ‘Mocha Mousse’ also plays well with natural light, creating a space that feels both grounded and glowing. Add a few metallic accents, and suddenly your room is the chicest cafe in town.
11. Purple Basil
Considering the general theme of 2025 color trends, it’s not surprising that we are finishing off this list with a Purple Basil – a dark and rich purple color.
Like I’ve previously mentioned, 2025 is the year to go bold and with this color as your choice, you will certainly show everyone just how bold you can really be!
So, what’s going to be your color of choice among these 11 2025 color trends? Do you plan on going bold with colors like Rumors or Purple Basil? Or will you simply switch your current neutrals with the upcoming trendy ones such as Mochi or Caramelized? Do let me know!
