We all know that the very first thing that humans made into a home is a cave.
I mean, apart from lacking all the necessary materials to build an actual home, caves were an easy place to hide in and get warm. When you think about it, they were essentially pre-made homes. All they had to do was move in!
As time went on and as we evolved, people moved out of the caves and began building homes that ultimately lead to the ones we live in today.
Recently, however, some of us decided to go back to our roots and make homes in caves again. And I must admit, it’s absolutely stunning.
1. Cueva Aventura Emilia
Spanning across almost 1,500 square feet, this incredible cave home is equipped with a full kitchen, dining room, living room. Alongside all of this, you also have three rooms with accompanying bathrooms.
With all of this being said, I think we can all agree that this home is absolutely massive!
The best part is that every single one of these rooms feature alcoves and raw cave walls while the bedroom has compact and dimed lights, setting the absolute perfect mood.
2. The Cave
If you are a fan of those old Victorian home aesthetics and are afraid that you can’t have this in a cave home then I am happy to announce that you are wrong.
Dunlap Hollow’s Cave Home located in stunning Ohio has exactly what you are looking for.
With its incredibly warm and luxurious interior, being teleported into your favorite era has never been easier. And the best part is, it still has that modern charm. So, if you want to read some books during the day and finish off the night in the hot tub, you can!
3. Casa Tierra
Integrating both historic and modern home making, this incredible place has something for everybody’s liking.
The designers of this home decided to build walls directly into the limestone wall where a quarry once stood. Even though this location dates back to the Roman era, the interior is far more luxurious.
Apart from the incredible exposed cave walls, you also get sleek concrete floors, whitewashed elements and modern furniture – the perfect mix of old and new!
4. Cappadocia Limon Cave House
You don’t have to travel back to the Bronze age because this incredible home will make you feel like you are already there.
When you walk through the front door and pass the main living area, you will be able to choose between three paths, each one taking you to a stunning bedroom.
My favorite part of this cave home is located in the master bedroom, and it’s actually a beautiful lotus mural carved right above the bed.
5. The Rockhouse Retreat
Now this is definitely something special.
This stunning cave house was created by hand-sculpting an 800-year-old sandstone escarpment. The builders excavated 70 tonnes of rock from this escarpment, making the first modern cave.
The home features an incredible blend of modern design with natural structures, making a place that you simply don’t want to leave.
6. Mystagoge Retreat
I think we can all agree that the blue and white color for a scheme screams Mediterranean luxury. And that’s exactly what this home is.
Featuring a stunning open-design living space, this cave home houses a living room, kitchen with dining area as well as two bedrooms and a bathroom.
But the best part of this home is definitely the private, heated indoor pool. So, no matter the time of year you decide to drop by, for you, it will be summer.
7. Beckham Creek Cave Lodge
Nestled into the stunning Ozar mountain of Arkansas, USA, this home is what dreams are made of.
When you think of a cave home, this is definitely what you are imagining. Every single room has stunning exposed rocks that will even pass a couple of drips on your nose.
Stretching across 260 acres, this stunning residence comes with a lounge, kitchen, dining room as well as four bathrooms and four bedrooms!
8. Stone Cave
The next home we are touring isn’t just a cave, but a part of history.
Used as a bunker beneath a home during World War Two, this home is not only incredibly stunning but it is also super spacious. Within its 650 square feet, it houses a living room, kitchen, dining area, a bedroom and a bathroom.
And trust me, every single part of this home is absolutely breathtaking.
9. Demeter Cave House
If you aren’t really drawn to the rustic interiors of cave homes but absolutely love the idea behind them, then this one is for you.
Even though it is definitely built inside a cave, it has such a modern design that you will never be able to tell.
From modern furnishing, state-of-the-art kitchen and the most luxurious bathroom you will ever see, this little paradise on earth will have you wishing you never walked outside ever again.
And, if you ask me, that goes for every single one of these homes!
