After we turn a certain age and become family people, a lot of us tend to seek holiday locations that are strictly oriented to our family’s needs. I know I do.
Is it crazy that I look up houses and places my girls would love, or is it just a mom thing?
Either way, the good old family vacation never fails to deliver, especially not when it’s in a private cabin.
And what a cabin!
I’ve seen one in Luray, Virginia, that would be perfect for my little family to spend some time together and enjoy ourselves!
Family Vibes Even On The Outside
I don’t know why, but this house looks like a family home, a place where families escape to rest, and nothing else. I don’t see it as a fun cabin for parties or something similar.
I see it as a home, or even a second one.
Those homey vibes surely come from the subtle, inviting exterior of the Blue Moon Log Cabin. Placed strategically in Luray, Virginia, surrounded by greenery and trees, the cabin is a delight for all of you who are traditional, family types
It’s a classic build with a log wall exterior, green roof, and a front porch whispering your name to come, sit on the lounge chair, and feel how tranquility wraps its arms around you.
Okay, There Is Some Fun In The Back
The front porch is for relaxing and the back porch is for fun. Okay, for relaxing too, but you have to admit spending time in a hot tub is super fun.
The hot tub is a rather large one so a bunch of you can come inside and soak away all your tension.
I love how it’s secluded from the nosy eyes with a wooden plank fence on one side and thick green trees on the other.
Nobody but the birds can see you.
All American And You Know It
Was I expecting anything else?
No, not really. When I see a cabin I can tell by the looks of its exterior if it’s gonna be a traditional interior or a luxurious and modern one.
In this case, the open space designed in an all-American style awaits you. There’s wood on the walls and the floor, and even as major pieces in the room. Those massive chairs are such a delicate artwork. They lead up to the loft we’re gonna check later.
The living room area is a smaller one, but I guess you don’t need too many to feel comfortable while you’re staying here. Just a nice couch, some space to sit down and just… talk, something no one really does anymore.
The Good Old Family Table
Just the idea of a family gathering together around the family table, passing down potatoes and green beans sounds so wonderful. A together meal with your loved ones is one of the best traditions you could implement into your family.
I tend to stick with our habits and always eat meals together, sitting down, no matter if we’re on a holiday or not.
When you’ve got a nice, spacious family dining table, and a lovely kitchen where you can prepare the dishes you’re gonna eat, there’s really nothing else left to do but to sit down and and enjoy it.
I hope you’ll enjoy it as much as I enjoy that stunning light fixture above the table. Such a showstopper!
For The Parents
What I love about cabin bedrooms is their simplicity. You can achieve so much without so many furniture pieces. The black bed with black bedding is so effective and a much better choice than the standard wooden bed.
A simple chair, some nightstands, and a large window where the sunlight comes in are all you need to be happy in this cabin.
Oh, and let’s not forget wooden floors and walls, as the true sign you’re staying in a family cabin. They make the designer in me happy, how about you?
And For The Kids
If this was my cabin, I would have kids’ beds put up here, but it isn’t. Instead, there are two-bedroom options to choose from and it’s an upgradable deal. The loft I’m about to show you can be transformed into a bedroom one day if needed.
Although the bed is the biggest furniture piece in the room with the prettiest bedding I’ve seen all day, the real beauty is the ottoman by the door, a spot where you sit down and chat as you get ready to hit the day.
Kids, This Is For You
If I ever have a cabin for my own family, please remind me to put up a loft for my kids, a place that will be all theirs.
Lofts are fun and can be transformed into anything you want. Since this cabin already has two bedrooms, adding some sofa beds, toys, and TV, and calling it a night was enough. Add some mattresses and you can always transform your loft into another bedroom.
I bet my kids would run up the stairs just to reach the loft and have fun all day round. After this cabin, I’m positive they’re gonna bug me to get a cabin. I might as well give up at this point.
