Believe it or not, some people are already looking for their winter holiday getaway. Don’t get me wrong; I love winter and all its charm. But, I feel like the boundary between the seasons is getting smaller and smaller each year.
One second it’s summer, and the next one there’s already winter decorations in the stores and people checking out Booking for winter holidays.
My friends from abroad have already contacted me to find them their next USA stay. They’ve been to a bunch of places and they always search for the original US-style house and holiday experience.
And I’ve got just the right deal for them this year!
The Duck Creek Chalet That Has ‘Merica Written All Over It
The original, American-style holiday is getting underrated. People pick luxurious and exotic destinations, they even escape for the winter somewhere warm. Fewer and fewer people choose this: the ideal American log cabin for holidays!
This beauty is a terrific specimen of the style we see in ski centers across the States.
I don’t know how many times my family and I spent our winter renting similar houses because my dad was a bit crazy about the snow. The memories of the warm house, mom waiting for us with hot cocoa, and a heap of snow outside will stick with me forever.
I simply know my friends would be happy staying here for a couple of weeks, enjoying all things American.
The cabin is located in Duck Creek Village, near the Navajo Lake in Utah. It’s miles and miles of pristine nature, the ones we only see in the movies these days.
The cabin is a three-bedroom house with a bunch of stuff inside and out guaranteeing a great stay.
Let’s Light A Fire In The Pit Tonight
One of my favorite things to do while staying in a cabin during the winter is to light a fire in the pit outside while around is nothing but snow. My family loves such small things and prefers hanging out together instead of doing something extreme.
I’m positive my friends will appreciate the fire pit area outside, perfect for s’mores – their kids’ favorite!
The Classic Style Never Disappoints
When I mentioned that my friends love getting the original American experience, I really meant that. This includes staying in cabins that have their own style. Having white marble, white furniture, and grey tones is a big no for them. Oh, well, for me too because I want a cabin to be… a cabin!
What can I say about this pretty little thing?
Oh, it’s a cabin, and what a great one!
When you step inside you’ll feel the warm and inviting atmosphere. The fire is crackling, the kitchen is full of yummy smells, and the leather sofas are calling your name to come and relax.
I appreciate how they kept the exposed wooden beams and support poles. That only adds to the rustic design of the cabin and makes the place more authentic.
My Biggest Weakness: Nice Cozy Fireplaces
For me, nothing beats the soft leather sofas next to a massive fireplace for the ultimate experience in a cabin at night. Just the family, feeling cozy by the fire… Ah, I wish I was there and it was winter already!
The colossal stone fireplace is breathtaking! It’s the centerpiece of the entire cabin, a source of warmth in those cold days, and an object of admiration. Whoever did this piece deserves a round of applause!
The living room opens out to the formal dining room and the kitchen. Everything is an open space concept so you never get the feeling you’re not included in the daily happenings.
Showstopping Elements Coming Your Way
The furniture in the cabin is pretty simple but with a dose of elegance. That’s not something you can achieve easily.
While the rest of the house is a standard American style, the kitchen is definitely a show-stopper!
Can We Stop For A Moment And Admire This Green Shade?
The combination of muted green walls and kitchen island with white cabinets and modern appliances works well together and promises a tasteful meal. I love the fact it’s a big kitchen so everyone can hop in and prep the meal together. That’s the whole point of getting a vacation, right?
Nothing’s better than spending quality time with your family members because the time simply slips away.
The American Dream
My friends don’t have the American dream, but they sure dream of spending some time in the States. Living here and abroad does have some differences. They always get surprised by our bedrooms and ensuite bathrooms because that’s not the thing in their home country.
I mean, those guys sure make pretty good croissants, but they still lack our spaciousness and coziness and that’s my honest opinion.
Going Back To Old Habits
On the second level of the cabin are bedrooms. Again, pretty simple, and straightforward, guaranteeing a good night’s sleep.
The same rustic style continues in the bedrooms. Those wood log beds are to die for! I bet they still smell heavenly like the forest.
See, it’s our recognizable style dating back to the previous century. I’m not kidding. There’s something special about these bed skirts and patchwork duvets. They remind me of my home and my family holidays.
Wood, Stone, And Simple Beauty
When I mentioned our ensuite bathrooms, I meant something like this. With a walk-in shower and a big vanity, this bathroom is excellent and will satisfy everyone’s needs. The designer in me screams how beautiful those tiles are. They remind me of the stone around the cabin!
Oh, and the wood plank siding going up the wall! Let’s not forget about that! It’s absolutely gorgeous.
Those Stone Tiles Are Everything
The stone tiles are even prettier in here!
Okay, I believe it’s time for me to go back to the natural color palette and do something with my bathroom. Lemme just store this in my inspo folder, the-he-he.
You’re Gonna Love The Fun Room
Now, I know my friends won’t be impressed with my way of fun which includes just sitting on the sofa, sipping cocoa, and doing nothing. They need fun. Their kids need entertainment, and, luckily, this cabin has something to offer.
There’s a fun room in the cabin with a bar and some cool gadgets like the telescope. And, I certainly know there’s a football table behind that cozy brown sofa! I’m sure the boys would love it!
The Real American Holiday
All that’s left to do is to show my friends this holiday cabin. They wanted the real American winter holiday and I promised them they’ll get it.
With some snow, winter decorations, and the fire crackling, this place will turn into a prototype of holiday houses from the movies we all love.
Add some hot cocoa, and we’re basically living in a Christmas commercial. Next step: convincing them Santa’s on his way!
