If this doesn’t make you wanna churn your own butter, nothing will!
I LOVE rustic cabins. The older the better. And I especially love old wood logs and planks that have a history, stains, marks, and chips.
Of course, I love them liveable on the inside.
But, finding such a cabin is hard. They’re either rustic on the outside or modern on the inside to satisfy visitors these days. Everyone wants something unique but doesn’t want to adapt and forget about the modern amenities for a day or so.
Well, with this old cabin in Fredericksburg, Texas, you’ll go back in time and experience a raw piece of history that’s almost forgotten.
Tiny House With Big Farmhouse Vibes
Call it the unspoiled gem of Texas!
The Weinland House is a cabin/ farmhouse with homey vibes you only saw in movies.
With its lovely surroundings and rustic exterior, the Weinland looks like a place stolen from a Western movie. The rocking chairs on the front porch give me such old, golden vibes I absolutely adore!
The place is as rustic as it gets and a wonderful spot to run away to when you get tired of the modern lifestyle.
Now, who’s up for some butter churning? Maybe a horse ride too?
All That’s Missing Are Ducks And Chickens Running Around
Have you ever been woken up by a rooster? I have. And ducks, geese, cows, sheep… I’ve spent my fair share of time on a farm and I know all these sounds. Do I love them? Yeah, well, some of them. But, I don’t have anything against a rooster waking me up in the dawn so I can enjoy my day to the fullest.
The Weinland Haus in Fredericksburg Texas is the prototype of an old farmhouse adapted to modern times.
The two-story building with porches and rocking chairs, the ultimate farmhouse details, is placed on a flat field with only one thing missing: animals running around creating a wonderful cacophonie of sounds!
Sitting By The Fire In Cold Winter Nights
Spring, summer, and fall were always the most productive seasons on every farm. Winter was reserved to hide inside, take care of the animals, and then rush back into the warm home.
Fireplace, as the center of every attention, was the source of warmth, heartwarming conversations, and homey feelings.
The Weinland has a lovely stone fireplace, a classic one might say, that surely offers plenty of warmth on cold days.
When you combine such a fireplace with hardwood floors, leather furniture, and wood planks on the wall, you get nothing but the coziest feeling in the world, the feeling of belonging somewhere.
The Comfortable Side
This cozy living room oozes rustic charm, with warm wooden tones, a comfy leather sofa, and a snug armchair that practically beg you to curl up with a book or a steaming cup of coffee.
The staircase adds character, almost as if it has its own tales to tell, while the sunlight streaming through red curtains bathes the room in a golden glow. It’s the perfect setting for a country retreat—or maybe just to sit back and pretend you’re the star of a heartwarming folk song.
A Dash Of Modern In The Kitchen
A wooden kitchen, a deep farmhouse sink, and a pot of stew bubbling on the stove. That’s the holy trinity of every farmhouse, every cabin, every cozy home in the countryside.
This is not a house with fancy, polished kitchen cabinets and marble countertops. This isn’t a place fit for a private chef. It’s a kitchen where a family would mess around, helping mom to dice up the vegetables for dinner or mix homemade bread.
It’s a room in the house full of wonderful smells, and I can feel them even through the photo!
Snuggle Corners
The Weinland is a rather small place, but it’s not as tiny as you might think. The house has two bedrooms that fit cozy beds. You really don’t need anything else than a spot to crash in and relax your tired body.
I love that they kept the old-fashioned beds with steel frames, something most people ditch these days. I love wooden furniture, but nothing says farmhouse bedroom than a black steel frame bed, some soft throw pillows, and a mattress as big as a cloud waiting for you.
The Great Outdoors
The Weinland property has great potential and offers lots of things to do around. If I might add, my favorite thing is sitting by the outside fireplace.
This spot can easily be transformed into a grill area if you light an easy fire and put some grill racks.
It’s great that they kept all the trees on the property since they cast such lovely shadows so you can rest outside and enjoy the day.
