There’s something so beautiful about older homes. They always feel like they have a tale of their own to tell.
Now I know, sometimes older places simply aren’t somewhere you can live anymore. But, that’s only at first sight!
Restoration is a thing, and it can change the place from looking as if it’s falling apart to something that’s just been built from scratch while keeping that old soul inside of it.
Believe it or not, the tiny house I will introduce you to today was once an abandoned house barn. Today, it’s a lovely, cozy and minimalist space where you can come and feel at perfect peace.
Such A Stunning Open Space
As we enter this lovely home, we are met with a huge indoors space! You can dance around this open-space cooking and living area!
On one side, the kitchen has a mixture of modern and minimalist simplicity with some rustic simplicity. The white cabinets and the brown countertop make you wonder if this is how the owners planned for this place to look ages ago or is it a new idea.
Over in the dining area, the brown, wooden dining table spreads inside the big interior surrounded by brown chairs.
I can already imagine a big family having a nice feast here, with warm smells spreading throughout the entire house.
It’s The Stacked Wood Logs For Me
On the opposite side is a very simple living room.
Instead of the TV, the gray couch faces a fireplace with stacked wood above it. An excellent place for spending some time with friends and family without the Internet and the phones. Just pure talk, laugh and yummy food, like in the original days of this lovely house barn.
Step Outside Into Relax Zone
Over on the left, a huge window spreads out, allowing you some gorgeous views of the outdoors.
If it’s cold or raining you can sit inside on one of the two chairs and look out the window. But if it’s a nice and sunny day, why not open up the windows, step out on a little terrace, and get some fresh air?
The Bedroom Symmetry
On the other side of the house, two bedrooms both have floor-to-ceiling windows, once again allowing some stunning scenery to be seen from the comfort of your sheets.
Aside from the comfy bed accompanied by a low hanging lamp, they both have a mini office area in the corner of the room consisting of a brown desk, a chair and a lamp.
This is an off-grid space, so instead of using this area to scroll for hours on your laptop, you can use it to read books, do some art, maybe even write some letters.
If Walls Could Talk
Letters are starting to become a thing of the past, so what better place to write one than in the old and restored house barn!
You know how people sometimes mention “Oh, if only walls could talk”. I wonder what they would say in a house like this.
It would be beautiful if old houses could talk and share the old memories with the new residents, don’t you think?
Are you a fan of old and restored places, or is pure modernity a way to go for you? I’d love to know!
