Shipping containers are so versatile, but I bet you already knew that. You can create a bunch of stuff out of them, including real-life houses for people to live in.
While people mostly use more than one container to create a cozy home, there are still individuals wo prefer to keep it tiny and squeeze everything in one 40 ft HC.
Living tiny is no big deal (pun intended) when you know how to combine furniture, create a good layout, and have everything within the reach of your hand.
Casa Casita Awaits You
When going on a quick getaway trip, everyone wants a little casita to make them feel at home. That’s the goal of every great stay: to make people feel comfortable as if they were home.
I don’t know if you used to live tiny, but when in Casa Casita, Utah, you will.
Transforming one container into a studio with EVERYTHING was an undertaking, but a successful one. Casa Casita is actually a double casita with two containers stacked on top of each other, both with the same layout and same style.
When you look at the casita from a distance, you can notice the interesting structure dominating the area with its copper-colorer corrugated walls and black steel frame windows and doors everywhere.
The Typical Garden Setup
When I’m on a holiday, even if it’s a short one, I always tend to pick houses that have either gardens or at least a terrace. I love to spend time outside, even if it’s one chair and a small piece of patio around me.
Fortunately, casita checks my boxes, and I can see there’s a grill hiding under the cover on the left side. This can only mean one thing: light up the fire and let the garden party begin!
Seriously, It’s All There!
I know how they usually say you’re covered with everything, but lots of those houses don’t deliver. Well, casita does, and if you look closely, you’ll really see everything!
The container was transformed and divided into zones. We have our living room area in the back with a simple leather sofa. A classic, right? But then, we also have the most beautiful desk ever. This white beauty looks like it was stolen from some older times and brought back to our days.
I’d love to sit here and at least do my crossword puzzle. The piece is too lovely, I can’t even…
Up front is the bedroom with a kitchen/ laundry. This may not look as aesthetically pleasing as the rest of the house, but I prefer having a functional washer and dryer when I’m on holiday more than just the aesthetical vibes.
When I mentioned everything, I also thought of the full kitchen with a double-door fridge and even a tiny dining table spot. It may sound like a lot of things, but it really isn’t. Everything has its place so you never get to feel you’re being over-swamped with items around you.
Shabby Chic, Could That Be You?
When I saw the exterior of the container with copper corrugated walls and black frames, I could swear the inside is gonna match. But, to my surprise, I was greeted by a rather farmhouse, shabby chic style of the studio. And it was a pleasant surprise.
The biggest, most dominant piece of furniture is definitely the cozy bed right by the front glass wall. It’s showered in natural light and I bet waking up in here is incredible!
My favorite part is not the bedding, although it’s quite an eyecatcher. It’s the headboard with soft padded cushions secured by black metal bars and leather straps.
It’s a complete mash of shabby chic and farmhouse and it’s working perfectly. Who’d known?
The Farmhouse Door Of My Dreams
One of these days, I’m finally gonna get my farmhouse door. I already have the spot in the hallway reserved for them. But, the only thing missing is time to actually do the transformation.
Farmhouse doors are an excellent choice when you need extra space. The casita is small, but they managed to put in everything. Just imagine how tiny the bathroom would be if they had a standard door opening in or out. That would take too much space.
These gorgeous farmhouse doors are the happiest solution for everyone. They’re functional, they match the shabby vibes of the place, and they serve as a portal from a living area to the modern bathroom with a nice, big walk-in shower you’re gonna love!
