10 Farmhouse Kitchen Ideas That Will Have Your Kitchen Smelling Like Mom’s Cooking Every Day

Sharing is caring!

Is there anything better than a delicious homemade meal after a long day’s work?

Eating something that my grandma cooked was one of the best parts of my childhood. Just the thought of me coming into a warm home that is filled up with the smell of my grandma’s cooking makes me water my mouth.

That is why, whenever I see a nice, cozy kitchen, I always get transported to the best years of my life.

So, if you have similar experiences, then be prepared to have to take a trip down memory lanes because each and every one of these kitchens is nothing but nostalgic.

1. The Smell Of Toast In The Morning

Kitchen with brown tiles and a long dining table

The first kitchen on our list is a classic one.

It features brown tiles on the floor and counters that make it super easy for you to maintain it and keep it clean.

In the middle of the room is a long wooden dining table that will make every single meal so much special.

Plus, it is so spacious that the entire family can get together and make their signature tomato sauce that would last them the entire year! I mean just look at that cooking area – it can definitely fit a couple of huge pots full of yummy goodness!

2. Nice And Cozy

This farmhouse kitchen is the definition of cozy.

The wooden floors will keep your toes warm during those cold winter mornings while that adorable table will make even the simplest sandwich taste incredible.

The cabinets, which are also made out of wood, keep the whole space nice and neat. And let’s not forget those aesthetic open shelves that will do so as well.

But what immediately caught my eye was that blue cupboard that added a perfect pop of color. Plus, it matches all the doors of the home, giving off the feeling that you have your entire life figured out!

3. Can’t Go Wrong With Tiny

Our next farmhouse kitchen is a bit smaller but rest assured, it has a big heart.

The L-shaped kitchen has light wooden panels in order to protect the walls while also giving off the best vibes ever. And those white wooden cabinets add a perfect contrast with the raw wood.

But what I absolutely love about this kitchen is the fact that it has all those cups, spices, and utensils adorably displayed, keeping them within hand reach, waiting for you to need them.

The final part of this kitchen is the dining area.

Featuring two chairs and a wooden table neatly placed by the window, you will be able to present your cooking creations in the best lighting every time.

4. A Modern Take

Kitchen with a wooden island and a sleek design

For all of you who like a modern kitchen, this one’s for you.

The color scheme, which features white with different shades of brown, still gives off that farmhouse feel but with the dear simplicity of modern design.

Since the kitchen is quite spacious, a large island takes up center stage with four chairs on one side. This is the perfect place for all your loved ones to take while they help you out with all your delicious dishes.

Oh, and I absolutely love that farmhouse sink that is right by the window. Now every time you do your dishes, you will have a stunning view to go along with it.

5. Fun For The Whole Family

Family kitchen with a light color scheme and lights above the dining table

I can so clearly imagine a loving parent taking up this stunning kitchen, cooking up their signature dish while their family patiently waits for them to call out their name.

The L-shaped wooden countertop provides you with tons of space to cook even the most elaborate Thanksgiving meal. But those who prepare meals for larger families know that even the simplest dinner for them requires a lot of space.

And all of those adorable decorations really tie the whole space together.

Finally, the dining table. I already know that this table has seen so many happy family gatherings and eagerly waits to do so in the future too.

6. The Finest Shade Of White

White wooden kitchen with a window by the sink

Some people tend to shy away from white kitchens as they believe that they can get messy really easily.

But this one has a really smart solution. Even though most of it is made out of the whitest wood, all the countertops, including the dining table, are made out of raw, shiny wood. This allows you to keep being messy as the cleaning up will take you just a couple of minutes.

This kitchen is also on the smaller side, but it still features all the appliances and space you could ever need. Oh, and this also includes a pizza oven. How cool is that?!

7. Who Doesn’t Love Retro?!

Retro kitchen with a radio and a blue coffee machine

Not only is the retro aesthetic still present, but it can also make its way into absolutely anything. For example, this farmhouse kitchen.

The main design of the kitchen features a stunning garnet countertop with a wooden island and exposed shelves. It also has metal racks that allow you to hang all your kitchen utensils so that they can be accessible at all times.

But even with all of these stunning elements, the retro decorations, such as the radio and that adorable coffee maker, make this room so much cuter.

And even though this particular kitchen isn’t that spacious, it still gives you all the space you need for you to cook your favorite meal.

8. Sugar, Spice and Everything Nice

Cute and colorful kitchen with adorable decorations

This farmhouse kitchen really needs a moment of its own.

It is the most adorable thing I have seen in a while. With its fun and colorful interior, you really can’t help but smile every time you step inside.

The kitchen cabinets, as well as the wooden paneling on the wall, have such a refreshing mint color while the rest of the kitchen switches between a warm brow and a clean white.

But what really takes the cake, apart from those cute decorations, are the brass pans that hang above the little island. I absolutely love to store my pans this way as well as you no longer have that unorganized clutter in your cabinets or drawers.

There really isn’t a single thing I would change about this kitchen.

9. Pop Of Color

Farmhouse kitchen with brown and green wooden walls

One of my favorite features of any home is the play of colors.

So many creative people have designed their homes by mixing colors that you would think would never work until you saw it for yourself. And this kitchen is the perfect example.

The main wall shares the same dark wood as the floor and ceiling. By doing this, you get the illusion that the room is much more elongated than it actually is. On the sides of this brown wall are two green ones that perfectly patch with that huge dining table located right next to the island.

The third color of this kitchen is the different shades of white. Not a single one of them is too bright, allowing them to blend with the rest of the colors without being too obnoxious.

The decorations of the kitchen are quite subtle with another pan hanger, only this time it is parallel to the wall.

10. Back To Basics

Sleek and modern kitchen with wooden beams

Concluding our list is another modern kitchen that still embodies the farmhouse feel.

The marble counter and shiny white cabinets are super sleek and incredibly elegant while the dining room area is much warmer and cozier as it features a dark wooden table and matching chairs.

However, what really gives this kitchen that loving farmhouse feel are those wooden beams on the ceiling and walls that frame the kitchen perfectly. Oh, and let’s not forget that exposed brick wall. You really can’t go wrong with that.

I can definitely see myself filling my tummy with some nice, warm soup while gazing through the window at that breathtaking scenery.

Final Word

Each and every one of these farmhouse kitchens has a way of emitting warmth and comfort to any home.

Whether it’s the smell of yummy food, the cozy feel of wooden floors, or the charming simplicity of open shelves, they have such a special charm that takes us back to simpler times.

And when you think about it, kitchens aren’t just for cooking. They are places where families come together to share some laughs and make unforgettable memories. And no matter how big or small, these kitchens remind us of the power of a shared meal and the love that goes into making it.
