I Know A Cabin Where Even Santa Would Come For A Holiday

Sharing is caring!

As soon as I saw this cabin I immediately thought of the movie The Holiday. You know, the one where Cameron Diaz and Kate Winslet switch homes for the holidays?

I always loved Kate’s snuggly cottage and imagined spending some time snowed in with nothing but the fire crackling.

Yes, I’m super ready for winter, even though the fall has just started. I love every season, but I gotta admit that winter is a tiny bit ahead of them. I guess I simply adore the idea of staying in a log cabin for the holidays way too much.

The Headwaters Camp cabin in Big Sky, Montana, makes me want to visit Montana for the first time. Can you believe that I was never in this state, although I love winter so much?

Anyways… It’s the unique design of the cabin and the pristine location that makes me so crazy about this house. A cabin on a pond! It doesn’t get better than this.

The Location That Wins

It’s not winter or snowy, but let’s picture it!

The Headwaters Camp cabin is a winter wonderland in the making, just missing the white cover. It’s the place where Santa would go for a weekend getaway with Mrs. Claus. It’s a house for winter-obsessed people and Christmas junkies like me.

It’s a fairytale house and I bet the rustic exterior is just the tip of the beautiful iceberg.

I’d be doing my best Katarina Witt impression on that pond as soon as it freezes in winter!

Wouldn’t it be nice to have a house in such a tranquil spot, with nothing but the sound of water and the wind between the trees? Oh, it would be swell. I am just sitting there on the deck, looking around you, and feeling so calm!

Oh, and it would be swell staying inside too, because the inside has that forgotten rustic charm like no other place!

The main area of the house consists of an open space kitchen and dining room with a living room lounge. What increases the incredible rustic charm is the seamless transition between the rooms and the walls that disappear into the structure.

What stands out are the stacked stones and timber logs, all locally sourced. Every wooden or stone detail you might see here was found in the area, making the cabin more authentic and truly one of a kind.

Details That Count

I feel like every log cabin comes with so many wonderful, simple details that matter. I’ll always pick such houses over fancy mansions and modern villas. Give me houses with soul, any day.

Besides the lovely living room area, the kitchen with the dining room is also a spot that steals breaths.

It’s tiny, with worn-out cabinets painted the lightest shade of green possible, and with dominant wood structures everywhere.

I can’t decide whether I like the wood branch chairs by the counter more than the robust exposed log beams.

What do you think?

Maybe you’re more of bold pieces such as the red leather dining chairs?

See, every corner of this cabin comes with a surprise.

Even bathroom!

Am I crazy or does this bathroom have Little House On The Prairie vibes or what?

It’s beyond rustic… It’s bucolic!

Even such an old style features a double vanity with the most unusual wooden sink I’ve ever seen. Being so imperfect actually makes it so perfect!

The total of 1,800 square feet is packed with charm and details you don’t see that often. Details really do count and improve every room!.

I mean, if this bedroom was a simple, traditional bed with a nightstand, it would be too boring. This here is a true gem, with raw wood elements on the bed that stole the show. I know my style at home is different, but I’m banging my head against the wall trying to find a place to put something like this.

Those wooden bed posts are simply too stunning!

Everything in here is just too wonderful. Log cabins are meant to wake up some forgotten emotions inside of you, to bring out that warm and fuzzy feeling we normally don’t have.

Needless to say, this cabin absolutely managed it.

And, needless to say that I’d die to spend Christmas holidays locked in here.

Can someone please call the director of The Holiday? I wanna film the sequel in this cabin so badly!
