Awaken Your Inner Hobbit In This Cave-Carved House

Awaken Your Inner Hobbit In This Cave-Carved House

Sharing is caring!

You don’t have to be a Baggins to live in such a house!

When I first saw The Cave, it immediately reminded me of the hobbit’s burrow. Could it be: modern life hobbits?

Well, you can be one, but only if you decide to stay in this luxurious house carved into the cave.

Dunlap Hollow’s pride, The Cave house, is attracting more and more people as time flies, making this a worldwide popular location. Everybody wants to be the hobbit of the Hocking Hills, a small place in Ohio.

Well, I never knew hobbits were a thing in Ohio, but here we are.

I guess it’s the only normal thing to expect after taking a tour of this nifty little retreat.

Care to join me as I show you how modern-day Frodo might live?

In A Hole In The Ground There Lived A Hobbit

As I said earlier, I never knew hobbits lived in Ohio. I hardly ever imagined them outside The Shire, if we exclude that trip Frodo took (thee-hee).
The moment I saw The Cave, I was stunned. It was a hobbit’s burrow. It had to be!

But, the thing is, these modern hobbits moved past the round doors and huge doorknobs. They’re into a contemporary style with black trim windows and sliding doors. They’re into visually increasing the space around them, opening it to the great outdoors!

I kid you not, this is a house carved into a cave. They really took everything they needed, found a natural cave, and created a house inside of it.

A total of 1,500 square feet was transformed into a classy haven for all nature lovers who want to explore the hiking trails around Hocking Hills.

A bit of gothic, a bit of academia, and a bit of classy elegance were mixed into this: the breathtaking open-concept living room with a kitchen!

Immediately on the entry door, you get the feeling you’re in a cozy home and all that’s missing is a cup of hot chocolate in your hand. I love these wood-carved bookcases and I love the fact they’re filled with books even more!

Throughout the house, the earthy and vibrant tones of red are present, making the house a welcoming sanctuary with good vibes.

I don’t know if Bilbo or Frodo ever saw such divine leather furniture or the billiard table in the back, but I sure know they would be impressed.

Although the room has a bit of man-cave vibes (pun intended), I can still picture girls in here too, laughing, sharing a bottle of wine, and enjoying the uniqueness every part of the room here has to offer.

What About Second Breakfast?

Yes, to calm down the Pippin in you, you can have a second breakfast in here too!

In the back of the living room is a nice kitchen with an island and black cabinets, and a lovely wooden dining room table and chairs set next to the window. You can have your breakfast, second breakfast, elevensies, luncheon, afternoon tea, supper, AND dinner here!

I just hope there is a fully stocked pantry we don’t see for uninvited guests who follow Gandalf’s sign on the door.

With bellies full, young little hobbitses need a place to relax. The Cave actually accommodates four people, which is definitely eight hobbits, in two big beds.

The first bedroom is a maroon beauty with interesting, gothic velvet wallpaper, and red accents.

And the second bedroom is a black one, with full black walls, baroque-ish details such as the mirror and the chandelier, and the inevitable stone ceilings.

There are two bathrooms in the house, and each bedroom has its own. The black bedroom has this stunning room with the same black walls and a tub I’d die for!

And the maroon room is pretty similar, with one exception which is the open shower instead of the tub.

The Cave is such an interesting small retreat that boosts so much inspiration inside of me.

I mean, does this not look like the place where the Fellowship of the Ring was formed?

Okay, kind of, but you get my point.

And the endpoint is that The Cave, with its two bedrooms, two bathrooms, an impressive interior design, and probably the coolest house location ever, is the place everyone should check out, whether he’s a LOTR fan or not.

I just happened to be one and I just happened to feel mesmerized by this cave hideout!
